Engr. Jaher Wasim is currently working as the Managing Director of D8 Consultants Ltd. (D8CL) – an infrastructure design consulting firm headquartered in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Also servicing as the CEO of Jaher Design & Consultancy (JDC) – a local engineering consulting firm providing design services for building design in Bangladesh.  In his early career, he worked  as a Structural/Bridge Engineer at Development Design Consultants Ltd. (DDC) , a multi-disciplinary consulting company has been extending its state-of-the-art services to the government, its allied agencies, private and international organizations. Before joining DDC, he worked as a Structural Engineer  at Mantissa Design and Consultant – an ISO:9001 certified consulting firm in the Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Responsibilities Include

•  Developing design concepts and basis of design; carry out finite element analysis and hand calculations to determine structural demands and capacities; designing and developing details for individual concrete members.
• Structural design services include analysis, engineering, and drafting of large, custom single-family residences, multi family apartment/condominium complexes, light commercial facilities, warehouses and ancillary structures.
• Review engineering calculation packages and final design reports for submission to the clients; developing drawings in CAD and working with senior engineers and drafters to develop final construction drawings and specifications
• Coordinating the structural design with architects, other engineering disciplines, the Building Official, and contractors
• Checking and reviewing documents produced by other engineers/ drafters for completion and accuracy
• Plan, develop, implement and direct the organization’s operational and fiscal function and performance.
• Act as a strategic advisor and consultant offering expert advice on contracts, negotiations or business deals that the corporation may enter into
• Evaluate company’s financial, operational, and sales and marketing structures to plan for continual improvements and a continual increase of operating efficiencies.
• Mentor and interact with members of staff at all levels to foster growth and encourage development among senior executive team and all members of staff.
• Oversees operations of organization
• Manages financial and physical resources
• Interfaces between organization and community
